Repair or Replace?

In class we have been talking about the purchasing process. Now let's take a look at how consumer-product warranties work. Read the WSJ classroom edition article "Repair or Replace" and answer the following questions.
Your Post
1. How do manufactures' Web sites help consumers with product problems and repairs?
2. How can consumers decide if they should have a product repaired by the manufacture?
3. Choose a product that you own and provide a picture of it in your post. Use the Internet to find the manufactures warranty for that product and provide a link to it in your post. Read over the warranty and answer the following questions.
A.) How long does it cover?
B.) If your product needs repair under warranty, how do you do you go about having those made.
C.) Is there an extended warranty available? If so, how much does it cost, and what does is cover?
(source note: the above questions come from the Wall Street Journal classroom edition/teacher guide Jan. 2008)
